== Overview == Concurrent computing is often achieved through techniques such as multithreading or multiprocessing. These techniques allow programs to execute multiple tasks concurrently by dividing them into smaller units of work. Each unit can be processed independently and concurrently, resulting in improved performance and responsiveness. In Elixir, concurrency is achieved through lightweight processes called [[Erlang Virtual Machine|Erlang processes]]. These processes are incredibly efficient, allowing for the creation of thousands or even millions of concurrent processes with minimal overhead.
