== Distributed Programming in Elixir == Elixir provides several abstractions and tools that make it easier to build distributed systems: === Concurrency === Concurrency is at the core of Elixir's design philosophy. The language provides lightweight processes, known as Elixir processes or actors, which communicate via message passing. These processes can be distributed across multiple nodes, allowing for easy parallelization and fault-tolerance. === OTP === The Open Telecom Platform (OTP) is a set of libraries and tools built on top of Elixir that provides abstractions for building fault-tolerant and scalable systems. OTP provides a number of building blocks, such as supervisors and gen_servers, that simplify the development of distributed applications. === Distributed Process Registry === Elixir provides a distributed process registry that allows processes to be registered and looked up across multiple nodes. This registry makes it easy to discover and communicate with processes on remote nodes. === Distributed PubSub === Elixir's distributed pub-sub mechanism allows processes to publish and subscribe to messages across multiple nodes. This makes it easy to build event-driven architectures and distribute work across a cluster of nodes.
