=== Concurrency and Parallelism === Elixir processes provide concurrency through lightweight threads of execution. Unlike traditional operating system threads, Elixir processes have very little memory overhead, allowing the system to support a large number of concurrent processes. Parallelism can be achieved in Elixir by running processes on multiple schedulers. A scheduler is a thread that can execute Elixir code. The Elixir runtime uses a pool of schedulers to execute processes in parallel, providing efficient utilization of system resources.
